Reviving Cuba

September 25 – November 3

Cuban art is very little known in the United States, especially that made by artists who are still living and working in Cuba. Reviving Cuba is an exhibition of works by just such artists. It has been curated from the collection of the Cuban Art Space in Manhattan. Sandra Levinson, the director of the Space, has been traveling to Cuba for decades and has deep roots with the arts community there. She will be presenting a gallery talk at the exhibition reception on Saturday, October 13.

There are over 30 painters represented in this exhibition, including Alazo, Fuster, Montebravo, and Kdir. Also included will be works by gallery regular Carlos Estevez. The only non-Cubans in the show will be Hadlyme residents Christian Brechneff and Tim Lovejoy who traveled to Cuba several years ago.
